Half-term fun with spooky BCP events

Families across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole are invited to enjoy a week of spooky fun with a packed programme of Halloween-themed events this half-term.

In Bournemouth, Littledown is hosting a Halloween Disco on Friday 31 October with fancy dress and games, while Russell-Cotes Art Gallery and Museum will be filled with spooky crafts and trails. Smugglers Cove Adventure Golf is also joining in with themed decorations, quizzes, and treats from 25 October.

In Christchurch, Highcliffe Castle welcomes young witches and wizards for creative indoor activities, while the Explore BCP website offers walking trails for families looking to discover the area’s hidden corners, including the new Smugglers’ Run Trail in Mudeford.

Poole’s Upton Country Park is running Bunty the Bone Dog’s spooky trail from 25 October to 2 November, with puzzles, face painting, and Halloween refreshments. At the same time, Poole Museum will host storytelling and sea monster-themed workshops ahead of its reopening.

Across BCP’s leisure centres, children can take part in sports camps, soft play, and lifeguard sessions, while the Purbeck Film Festival runs until 2 November with screenings across Dorset.

Councillor Richard Herrett, Portfolio Holder for Destination, Leisure and Commercial Operations, said it’s a fantastic opportunity to make memories, explore local attractions, and enjoy a range of family-friendly activities.

Families can find more ideas for local activities and events through the BCP Family Information Directory, helping everyone enjoy a frightfully fun half-term close to home.
