A new theatre production celebrating the legacy of John Lennon will be staged at Lighthouse Poole on Wednesday 1 October 2025.
The show, Imagine Lennon, stars Tyson Kelly who has spent more than 15 years performing as Lennon across the world. He previously played the role on Broadway in Let It Be and toured internationally with The Bootleg Beatles for seven years.
Kelly is joined by a five-piece band for an evening of live music, blending Beatles classics with Lennon’s solo work. The setlist includes songs from the early Please Please Me era through to Double Fantasy, as well as a selection of solo hits and lesser-known B-sides.
Alongside the music, audiences will hear stories about Lennon’s life and work, with the performance described as a personal journey through his songwriting. Kelly, who also has a background in drama and musical theatre, says his portrayal is shaped by a lifelong passion for The Beatles.
Music runs in the family as his father Tom Kelly co-wrote hits such as True Colors for Cyndi Lauper and Like a Virgin for Madonna.
The production aims to offer an intimate experience that captures Lennon’s artistry and presence, marking more than four decades since his death. It promises an evening of reflection and celebration for Beatles fans and lovers of timeless songwriting.
