Dorset Council asks for views in parking review survey

Dorset Council is inviting people across the county to take part in a new parking survey as part of a full review of its parking services.

The review covers all 117 council-run car parks and on-street parking areas, including resident zones, town centres and coastal locations. It will look at how current parking is used and explore changes to make it fairer and more accessible.

The council wants to hear from residents, workers, businesses and visitors. Feedback is being sought on issues such as when people use car parks, experiences with resident-only or overnight parking, and how the current three-tier pricing system is working.

Councillor Jon Andrews said the aim is to ensure parking works for everyone and supports the council’s wider goals, including road safety, local economic growth and reducing emissions.

Suggestions for better signage, permit options and EV charging are also welcomed.

The survey is open until Thursday 4 September and can be completed at dorsetcouncil.gov.uk.
