Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra to perform at Royal Albert Hall concert

The Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and Chorus will take centre stage at an upcoming concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

Taking place on Monday 20 October, this year’s Classic FM Live marks 25 years of the event and will feature some of the most celebrated classical artists, alongside rising stars.

The BSO will perform under the baton of Chief Conductor Mark Wigglesworth, joining a line-up that includes Sir Bryn Terfel, Pene Pati, Esther Abrami, Diana Newell and Sir John Rutter, who turns 80 this year.

Classic FM’s Composer in Residence Debbie Wiseman OBE will also feature with a performance of The Traveller, a piece commissioned by concert sponsor Viking, which is marking ten years of supporting the series.

The concert will open with Zadok the Priest, the first piece ever broadcast on Classic FM when it launched in 1992. Fireworks and dramatic lighting will accompany the finale.

Classic FM Live began in 2000 and has been hosted regularly at the Royal Albert Hall since then. The anniversary concert will be recorded for broadcast on Classic FM later this year.
