Sunseeker International has announced plans to begin a formal consultation process that could lead to around 200 redundancies across its support, leadership and management teams.
The company, which manufactures luxury yachts in Poole and Portland, said the move follows a detailed operational review aimed at improving efficiency and aligning resources with future business demands. Around 10 percent of its workforce may be affected by the proposed restructure.
Chief Executive Andrea Frabetti said the decision had not been taken lightly, and confirmed that a minimum 45-day consultation would now take place, involving affected staff and their representatives.
The announcement comes as the company notes a softening in global demand, with market conditions influenced by economic and political uncertainty. Sunseeker says the restructure is designed to reduce costs while ensuring long-term sustainability and supporting the development of its Superyacht range.
Frabetti added that Poole and Portland remain central to the company’s operations and future plans. Sunseeker has reaffirmed its commitment to local employment, fulfilling its global order book and continuing to invest in new product innovation.
Employees will be offered support throughout the process, the company said.
Sunseeker employs around 2,000 people across its Poole and Portland sites.
