Free Morebus travel for military on Armed Forces Day

Morebus will offer free travel to military personnel and veterans on Saturday 28 June as part of Armed Forces Day commemorations.

The offer applies to those in uniform, wearing medals, or carrying military ID and will be available all day across the Morebus network. It’s intended to help people attend local events or visit friends and family while recognising their service.

The bus operator, which runs services across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, said it wanted to show appreciation for those who have served or are still serving in the armed forces.

Morebus head of communications Nikki Honer said the community is proud of its military and the gesture is one way to show support. She added that the company hopes it will make travel easier for those taking part in Armed Forces Day.

The initiative is in line with similar support shown by other public transport providers across the UK during Armed Forces Day, which takes place annually to honour the work and sacrifice of military personnel, past and present.
