Ringwood cat lover launches new at-home sitting service

A Ringwood woman has launched a new cat sitting business covering Bournemouth and the local area after stepping away from a long career in banking.

Alex Booth, aged 52, has started The Cat Butler Bournemouth – a service offering in-home care for cats while their owners are away.

After working in the financial sector for more than 20 years, Alex said she was inspired to make the change after struggling to find suitable care for her own cat, Daisy, during a past holiday.

The experience led her to seek a new role that combined her love of animals with the opportunity to support other pet owners.

Her new business provides daily visits for cats who prefer staying in their familiar home environment rather than going to a cattery. She says building trust with both cats and their owners is central to the service.

Alex added that her 18-year-old tabby, Daisy, remains a big part of her life and was originally given to her by a close friend who has since passed away.

She said Daisy continues to be a meaningful link to that friendship and helped influence her decision to pursue this path.
