Semenyo double secures record finish for Bournemouth

AFC Bournemouth concluded their Premier League season with a 2–0 home victory over Leicester City, securing ninth place and a club-record 56 points.

Antoine Semenyo scored both goals in the second half. The first came in the 74th minute, when he converted Illia Zabarnyi’s headed knockdown from a corner. His second, in the 88th minute, was a low strike from outside the box after Dean Huijsen won possession and set him up.

Bournemouth dominated the match, registering 20 shots to Leicester’s three, none of which were on target.

The Cherries’ ninth-place finish equals their best in the Premier League, previously achieved in 2016–17.

Leicester City, already relegated, ended the season 18th with 25 points.
