Golf Links Road closed both ways due to a fire

Golf Links Road in Ferndown is closed both ways due to a fire with multiple emergency vehicles on location and a large smoke plume affecting the area.

The fire service advises people in the area to keep windows and doors closed until further notice.

DWFRS told Bournemouth One: “We were called at 12.31pm today (12 May) to Golf Links Road, Ferndown to reports of a property fire. Crews from Redhill Park, Springbourne, Poole (x2), Wimborne, Westbourne, Ringwood (Hampshire & Isle of Wight FRS), a command unit from Hamworthy and the aerial ladder platform from Westbourne are currently in attendance.

“Four breathing apparatus wearers are using two main lines and four hose reel jets to extinguish. Residents in the local area have been advised to close windows and doors due to smoke in the area.”

Dorset Police added: “We received a report at 12.45pm from the fire service relating to a property fire in Golf Links Road in Ferndown. Officers have attended to assist the fire service and road closures have been put in place.”

The road has been closed temporarily until further notice.
