Man charged following serious injury collision in Kinson Road Bournemouth

A man has been charged in connection with a serious collision in Bournemouth that left two people injured.

At 1.10pm on Thursday 1 May 2025, emergency services were called to a report of a collision on Kinson Road, near the junction with Cherford Road, involving an e-bike and a blue Mercedes car.

It was reported that the car did not stop at the scene.

One man, aged in his 20s, was airlifted to hospital with injuries believed to be life-changing.

Another man, also in his 20s, was taken to hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Both men remain in hospital receiving treatment.

Following initial enquiries, a 37-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, and a 17-year-old boy and 36-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.

All three, who are from Bournemouth, were released on police bail while investigations continued.

A 24-year-old man from Bournemouth has now been charged with conspiracy to commit kidnap, two counts of grievous bodily harm with intent, dangerous driving, and possession of a bladed article.

He is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Monday 5 May 2025.

A 48-year-old man from Bournemouth was also arrested on suspicion of intentionally encouraging or assisting the commission of an indictable only offence and released on bail.

Detective Inspector Ian Allen said the case involves people believed to be known to each other and urged the public to avoid speculation while court proceedings are underway.

He said: “Officers continue regular reassurance patrols and we thank the public for the information shared so far.”
