Things to do during the Easter holidays across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole

From traditional egg hunts to immersive experiences, here are some ideas on what to do across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole this Easter.

Some of the events are free, whilst others are chargeable, and you can see even more events on the Bournemouth One What’s On Guide.

Bournemouth

  • The free-to-play Kids Easter Play Day event at Woodpecker Café, Queen’s Park, offers games, colouring and Easter crafts with a special Easter-themed children’s menu available, and Easter puzzle trail with a prize for £2 per child.
  • Dive in for some fun, fresh air and fantastic art following the giant 40 mermaid ‘Great Tail Trail’ sculptures for Julia’s House across BCP.
  • Russell-Cotes’ Easter holiday activities are themed around mermaids and sea creatures to complement the ‘Great Tail Trail’ Tail in their garden. Easter Trails in Russell-Cotes house and garden are on until Monday 21 April, with Easter Crafts taking place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays during the school holidays.
  • Try out the brand new ‘Action Zone’ soft play and sports hall facilities at Kings Park Leisure and Learning Centre.
  • Fun for everyone at Redhill Funfair which will run until 21 April.
  • Enjoy the seafront – take advantage of same-day or short-term beach hut bookings. Admire the views from Smugglers Cove Adventure Golf whilst taking part in a competition, looking for Easter-themed pictures.

Christchurch

  • An egg-citing Easter trail awaits through Highcliffe Castle’s grounds where you will be solving clues, taking on challenges and collecting letters as you go, with optional themed craft activities at the end. Pre-booking is recommended.
  • Make a splash at Two Riversmeet Leisure Centre – the centre offers holiday clubs packed with a range of swimming and sports activities, perfect for keeping active during the holidays.
  • Join the Christchurch Bandstand Good Friday service on the Quay on 18 April, 10.30am-12.30pm.

Poole

  • Celebrate spring with a visit to the new Upton Country Park Spring Makers Market on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 April. Free entry to browse the amazing selection of local artisans’ craft stalls in the 200-year-old Grade II* Upton House. Crack the clues and join the ‘Springtacular Easter Adventure Trail’ completing tasks to uncover the wonders of springtime and win a cuddly prize. ‘Get Up and Bounce’ are back in the Walled Garden with fantastic inflatable fun for all ages up to 10. Pixie Paint face painting offer a range of amazing Easter designs and artistic face painting creations. Canopy Tree Climbing also return Friday 18 – Sunday 20 April, explore the incredible heights of one of Upton Country Park’s magnificent trees.
  • Follow the discovery trail up Poole High Street to find out more about the hidden histories of the buildings and the people who lived there.
  • Brush off your swimming skills or have a go at the activities and sports offered at Rossmore and Poole Dolphin Leisure Centres.

Children can access four funded holiday club places over the Easter period through The Holiday Activities and Food programme (HAF). A range of fantastic holiday clubs is available this Easter across BCP including sports, Easter egg hunts, Easter-themed art and crafts, food workshops and much more!
