The new president of Bournemouth Chamber of Commerce has announced his plans for the organisation.
Nigel Hedges wants to increase membership to 760, the level it reached during his previous presidency in 2013.
Hedges also aims to create a Chamber Business Hub in Bournemouth, offering hot-desking facilities and meeting spaces for local businesses.
In addition, he plans to launch a Business News TV project to keep members informed and to expand the ‘Next Gen Group,’ a network of future business leaders.
At the Chamber’s AGM, Jessica Toale MP expressed her support for the Chamber and its members, but some of the directors resigned shortly afterwards in protest of a decision made on the night.
Simone Ippolito announced he was leaving the Chamber after two years, after previously understanding he would be made joint-president on the night.
Despite current challenges, Nigel Hedges says he remains optimistic and focused on growing affiliate memberships and fostering collaboration between local organisations.
