Moors Valley Country Park facilities close again due to second fire incident

Another fire has closed facilities at Moors Valley Country Park today – the second incident in as many days.

The park posted a message on social media saying some services are closed, including the car park.

The post said: “Moors Valley is currently experiencing another fire incident in the forest.

“As the rangers work to manage the situation, the decision has been made to close the car park and restrict access to the site, including the Visitor Centre and Restaurant.”

An update later in the day confirmed the fire was in a different place to the previous fire, and that the park’s facilities will remain closed on Wednesday 2nd April as well.

The post said: “We are asking the public not to enter the park or the surrounding forest until it is confirmed that the area is safe. Updates will be provided online and via social media.”
