Fire crews were called to Moors Valley Country Park to deal with an incident in the forest, near Verwood Road on Monday.
Units from Verwood, Ferndown, Poole, Amesbury, Springbourne, Redhill Park, Shaftesbury, Westbourne, Christchurch, Swanage and Bridport all attended a large fire, which was first reported on Monday morning just before midday.
Verwood Road was closed for around three hours between Verwood and Ringwood to allow emergency services to deal with the fire.
Moors Valley was initially open during the incident but later announced the car park will be closed until further notice.
Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “There is currently an Amber wildfire alert in place for the Service area, and we urge people to take extra care while enjoying our open spaces in the sunshine.”
