Bus passenger satisfaction levels in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole are among the country’s highest.
An independent national survey puts customer satisfaction among those travelling by bus in the BCP area at 91 per cent.
Local operator, Morebus, scored highly in the overall satisfaction rating.
Its network area was rated top for punctuality, according to national watchdog, Transport Focus.
Customers were questioned in Autumn 2024 for the Your Bus Journey survey, Transport Focus’s comprehensive measurement of what it’s like to travel on buses across Great Britain.
Through the survey, passengers themselves gave structured feedback about all aspects of a bus journey – from waiting at the stop, to being on-board, the driver, and overall timeliness.
Andrew Wickham, Morebus managing director, said: “I am pleased with the overall score for Morebus, which has improved over the past 12 months.
“It’s great that local people think so highly of us.
“We have made significant investment in new buses, services, and our app over recent years and we are working closely with BCP Council to ensure our customers enjoy reliable, safe and high quality services here.”
Cllr Andy Hadley, BCP Council’s cabinet member for climate response, environment and energy, said: “I’m delighted that passenger satisfaction with bus services has further increased in our area.
“This shows our Enhanced Partnership with Morebus is delivering measurable improvements for passengers.”
