A31 in Ferndown is closed both ways due to a collision between the Palmersford roundabout and the Canford Bottom roundabout.
The incident happened last night and a 43-year-old man died on the scene after sustaining serious injuries.
Police were called to the incident at around 8.45pm on the Ameysford Roundabout involving a white Peugeot 308.
Road closures from multiple directions in the area remain in place while officers carry out a detailed examination of the scene.
Police Sergeant Richard Stroud, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of the man at this difficult time and we have specially trained officers supporting them.
