Police investigate death of a child in Boscombe but say there’s nothing to indicate that it’s suspicious
Police are investigating the death of a child in Boscombe this morning.
They were called to an address off Christchurch Road at 8.19 am after the ambulance service reported a child was in need of medical attention.
The child was subsequently pronounced dead.
Dorset Police said that while there was nothing to indicate the death is suspicious, as with all cases involving a death in infancy, officers will be carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances.
The full statement from Dorset Police reads: ‘Dorset Police received a report at 8.19am on Friday 24 January 2025 from the ambulance service after a child was in need of medical attention at an address off Christchurch Road in Bournemouth.
‘Very sadly, the child was pronounced dead.
‘There is nothing to indicate that the death is suspicious. As with all cases involving a death in infancy, officers will be carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances.
‘Our thoughts are with the family involved and we would ask that their privacy is respected at this extremely difficult time.’
