The new owners of Sunseeker International are pledging to keep the luxury boat maker’s British identity as well as the global headquarters and production facilities in Poole.
Miami-based investment firm Lionheart Capital and Italian-owned Orienta Capital Partners have acquired the company from China’s Dalian Wanda Group for an undisclosed sum.
The deal was confirmed at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show.
Sunseeker employs about 2,000 people and produces around 150 boats every year ranging from 38 to 161 feet with 98 per cent being exported.
It’s expected to benefit from new investment following its sale.
Wanda Group initially acquired Sunseeker in 2013 for £320 million.
One of Dorset’s largest employers, Sunseeker works closely with charities such as Macmillan Cancer Support.
Its support of the annual Dorset Bike Ride has seen more than £1 million raised since Sunseeker’s involvement began.
