First charity coffee morning by Variety Wessex raises vital funds for ‘Great Days Out’ scheme
A coffee morning has raised vital funds for Variety the Children’s Charity ‘Great Days Out’ scheme.
Held at The West Hants Club in Bournemouth, it raised £602.50.

The ‘Great Days Out’ scheme funds outings for children, who might otherwise not have the opportunity.
It aims to enhance their lives by giving them positive memories.
In past years Variety Wessex, the local branch of the charity, has funded visits to Monkey World, Cotswold Wildlife Park, Longdown Adventure Farm, Paultons Park and Longleet Safari Park.
There have also been educational visits to Rick Stein Sandbanks for cookery lessons and trips to Springbourne Fire Station and Poole Police Station.
As well as coffee and cake, visitors enjoyed stalls selling quality clothing, leather goods and jewellery.
There was also a raffle with a first prize of a Ralph Lauren pencil dress donated by Helena, from Jet Set Dresses, pictured left.
Frances Cornelius, Chair of Variety Wessex said: “What a great success our first coffee morning has been.
“A huge thank you to Christine Roberts for arranging everything with The West Hants Club and all the stall holders.
“Thank you, of course, to everyone who manned one of our classy stalls and Anita for serving the coffee and cake.
“We are grateful to everyone who came along and supported our fundraising in any way.
“Many deserving children will benefit from your generosity.
“And a big thank you too to The West Hants Club for being such an excellent venue.”
