Two arrests after reported assault at Bournemouth pub leaves man with serious injuries

Two people have been arrested after a reported assault at a pub in Bournemouth last night in which a man was seriously injured.

Police were called to The Kings Arms pub in Wallisdown Road shortly after 6.30 following reports of damage and a man being assaulted by two others.

The man, who’s in his 30s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Two men, aged 19 and 24 and from Southampton, were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Police established a cordon while enquiries continue into the incident.

The full statement from Dorset Police reads:

‘Dorset Police received a report at 6.34pm on Thursday 11 July 2024 that a man was causing damage at The Kings Arms pub in Wallisdown Road in Bournemouth.

‘It was further reported that a man aged in his 30s was assaulted by two men. He sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

‘Two men, aged 19 and 24 and both from Southampton, have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

‘A cordon is in place to allow for further enquiries to be carried out at the scene. Enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances of what happened.’
