Labour gains in Bournemouth and Poole while Liberal Democrats win Mid Dorset and North Poole

Labour has won the two Bournemouth parliamentary seats and also Poole from the Conservatives.

Tom Hayes, pictured left, is the new MP for Bournemouth East after securing a 5,479 majority over Conservative candidate, and former MP, Tobias Ellwood.

Meanwhile Jessica Toale is the new MP for Bournemouth West.

She has a 3,224 majority over Sir Conor Burns, the former MP and Conservative candidate.

In Mid Dorset and North Poole, Vikki Slade  won the seat for the Liberal Democrats.

The Leader of BCP Council has a majority of 1,352 over former Conservative MP, Michael Tomlinson.

Poole’s new MP is Labour’s Neil Duncan-Jordan after several recounts with just 18 votes between himself and Conservative candidate Sir Robert Syms.

Sir Christopher Chope, pictured right, has been returned as the Conservative MP for Christchurch with a majority of 7,455.
