Cordon along promenade and beach lifted as murder investigation continues

A police cordon along Bournemouth promenade and the beach has now been lifted as a murder investigation enters its fourth day.

A 34-year-old woman from Poole, named by the BBC and other outlets as Amie Gray, was stabbed to death on Durley Chine beach on Friday night.

A second woman, aged 38 and also from Poole, sustained serious injuries and is still receiving treatment in hospital.

Police have issued CCTV images of a suspect and have asked that anyone recognising him, or with other information, should contact them immediately.

The beach and promenade was closed between Bournemouth Pier and Alum Chine while investigation work continued.

They’ve now been re-opened but cordons remain in place at West Cliff green and the access points, to and from the gardens.

A 17-year-old boy from Lancashire arrested on suspicion of murder has been released without charge and eliminated from enquiries.
