Bournemouth & Poole College puts the focus on apprenticeships at information event

Bournemouth & Poole College is putting the focus on apprenticeships next week.

It’s holding an apprenticeships information event – called Apprenticeships Unlocked – at Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre on Thursday February 8 from 4pm to 7pm.

Taking place during National Apprenticeship Week, there’ll be a chance to meet employers in a wide variety of key sectors and receive expert guidance from the college’s apprenticeship team.

Everyone is invited including school leavers, students, anyone looking for a career change, parents, guardians or employers looking to recruit apprentices.

The college delivers over 30 different apprenticeships and works with more than two thousand businesses.

Stacey Howlett, Business Development Account Manager, pictured, said apprenticeships were the best way to gain on-the-job training, learn key skills through study and receive a salary.

She said: “We’re really pro-apprenticeships because it’s a great opportunity for employers to grow their workforce but, equally, it’s a great opportunity for students to get more of a hands-on experience.

“Ninety six per cent of our students actually retain employment after they’ve completed their apprenticeship so it’s a great opportunity.”

Last entry to the event is at 6.30pm.

Anyone with  apprenticeship questions should email apprenticeships@bpc.ac.uk
