Planning approval has been granted for 38 new homes as part of Pennyfarthing Homes’ Potters Wood development in Verwood.
The decision represents the third and final phase of the current project and will bring the total number of homes up on the scheme to 268.
Pennyfarthing says 19 units will be designated as affordable ‘First Homes’ designed to support local first-time buyers and key workers in the area. The affordable units will consist of two and three-bedroom houses, as well as one and two-bedroom flats.
The remaining 19 open market homes will offer a variety of options for customers, including two-and three-bedroom bungalows and three-bedroom houses.
The new phase is situated on a four-acre greenfield site and will feature an open space, providing residents with accessible recreational areas and landscaped grounds.
The development benefits from its proximity to an existing Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace (SANG) and a recently refurbished council-owned playground which was funded by Pennyfarthing Homes.

Construction of the final phase is set to begin later this year, with the first homes expected to be available by January 2025.
