Large EV charging sign to be removed following complaints from residents

A large sign on Cheviot Way in Verwood, which attracted complaints from local residents, is being removed.

Verwood councillor Toni Coombs announced the oversized object would be moved away, saying “a sign of this size in a quiet residential area is totally unacceptable”.

The billboard is advertising the arrival of “Ultra rapid charging” on a piece of land previously used for local parking.

International “clean mobility” company Leap 24 put the sign up a few months ago, much to the surprise of local residents.

Work on the plot, near Morrisons, is taking longer than expected to get started, Cllr Toni added.
