An outline planning application has been submitted to Dorset Council proposing a part three/part four storey 47 bedroom dementia care home with new vehicular access and parking provision in Verwood Town Centre.
The site, currently the location of three properties including The Curtain Cabin, would need to be cleared in order for the new facility to be built.
The applicant wants to demolish the buildings on Edmondsham Road (numbers 5, 7 and 7a), to the side/rear of Irving and Sons Estate Agents off Station Road.
The new building would have 12 car parking spaces accessible from Edmondsham Road.
Consultant letters have been sent to local residents, County Highways and Verwood Town Council who have until 21st March to send in their views.
UPDATE 4/3/19: This planning application, which stated 47 bedrooms, appears to have disappeared from the Council website.
