Easter eggs donated to food banks by Hendy
More than 200 Easter eggs are heading to food charities in Bournemouth and Christchurch this Easter.
Hendy Foundation, the charitable arm of the family-run Hendy car dealer network, launched the appeal and collected donations from colleagues, with the response going beyond what had first been expected across its South Coast sites.
Among the groups receiving the Easter eggs are Hope for Food Bournemouth and Christchurch Food Bank, alongside charities in Wimborne, Eastleigh, Cosham, Tunbridge Wells and Redhill, as the Foundation continues its focus on supporting families facing hardship.
Rebecca Hendy, Chair of Hendy Foundation, said helping children and families in the local area has been a “core principle” since the charity was founded in 2018, adding that the gifts would make the holiday “a little bit brighter”.
The Foundation said food banks and food poverty charities have remained a key area of support over the past 12 months. In late 2025, it awarded more than £61,000 in grants to 50 non-profit organisations, with a 2026 target of £90,000.
