Road closures planned for surface works

Road closures are being scheduled across BCP as asphalt preservation work gets under way this month.

Herbert Avenue will close from 8 to 10 April between 9:30am and 4pm, with the restriction running from the A3040 Alder Road end towards Ringwood Road. Rossmore Leisure Centre will stay open, with drivers asked to approach from Ringwood Road until the morning of 9 April, then via Alder Road.

Phased closures will also affect A341 Magna Road and Queen Anne Drive on 11 and 12 April between 8am and 6pm. Work will start at the Bere Cross roundabout and move west, with the council saying the treated surface will be reopened behind the team as sections are completed.

The B3369 Sandbanks Road, from Park Road to Pottery Road, is due to close on 17 April between 9:30am and 4pm. The council said this timing is intended to “avoid unnecessary disruption” after the Easter holidays.

Matti Raudsepp said asphalt preservation provides a “quick layer of protection” that helps “extend the life of the road”. All timings remain weather dependent.
