
Driver fails to stop after Upton crash
A man in his 40s has been taken to hospital after a fail to stop collision on the A350 Upton bypass.
Emergency services were called at 10.35am on Sunday 29 March 2026 following reports of a crash involving a blue VW Polo and a pedestrian, with the driver failing to remain at the scene and a road closure put in place while crews responded.
The injured pedestrian was treated by ambulance crews before being taken to hospital, where his injuries were described as serious but not believed to be life threatening or life changing, as enquiries continue into the circumstances surrounding the collision.
Police Sergeant Richard Stroud, from the Roads Policing Team, said officers are “carrying out enquiries into this collision” and are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened or may have captured relevant dashcam footage.
He also urged the driver involved to come forward, adding: “Please do the right thing and come forward so we can take your account of what happened.”
