BCP areas chosen for pride in place fund
Three neighbourhoods in Bournemouth and Poole have been selected for government investment.
West Howe, Boscombe West and Hamworthy West will benefit from the Pride in Place programme, which aims to revitalise high streets, improve public spaces and strengthen community pride.
BCP Council says the funding will help support projects designed to improve neighbourhood areas and create opportunities for local residents.
Councillor Millie Earl said the announcement is good news for communities across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.
She added that the council has previously raised concerns that the area had been overlooked for national investment and welcomed the government’s decision to support the selected neighbourhoods.
The council says the funding will build on work already taking place locally to strengthen town centres, improve public spaces and create opportunities for young people.
Officials also say residents and businesses will be involved in shaping the improvements to ensure projects reflect the needs of the communities.
