Police have released a CCTV image during an investigation into the death of a man in Poole.
Officers were called at 8.12am on Thursday 3 April 2025 after a man in his 40s from Bournemouth was found unresponsive in a tent in a wooded area off Holes Bay Road.
Emergency services attended the scene but the man was pronounced dead, and enquiries later established he had been assaulted in Chapel Lane in Poole at around 1.15pm on Wednesday 2 April 2025.
Detectives from Dorset Police’s Major Crime Team have been investigating the circumstances surrounding the death and say the man’s family are being kept updated as enquiries continue.
A 19 year old man from Poole was arrested on suspicion of murder during the investigation and has since been released under investigation.
Detective Inspector Shaun Inkpen said officers are now issuing a CCTV image of a man they would like to identify as a potential witness who was in the area at the time of the reported assault.
