Witness appeal after town centre assault

Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a town centre assault in Bournemouth on Friday evening.

At around 7.45pm on Friday 20 February 2026, a food delivery rider in his forties was cycling through Central Gardens near the tennis courts when he encountered a group of teenagers and was assaulted, with his bike stolen.

The victim sustained a fracture to his hand during the incident and received treatment, while officers from BCP CID began enquiries to identify those responsible and trace the stolen bike as part of a detailed investigation.

Detective Staff Investigator Katy Miles, of BCP CID, said: “We are carrying out a full investigation into this incident and I would urge any witnesses to please make contact with us.

“I am also keen to hear from anyone with relevant footage or who has information regarding those involved in this incident.”
