Young carers charity meets King at Windsor

Young carers from Dorset met His Majesty at a Windsor Castle reception.

MYTIME Young Carers attended a reception on 11 February 2026 hosted by His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen in recognition of individuals and organisations supporting people with caring responsibilities across the UK. Staff from the charity were joined by several young carers it supports.

The event brought together organisations from across the caring sector, giving guests the opportunity to share experiences inside Windsor Castle. In a message to attendees, The King said carers represent something “profoundly valuable” within communities, noting that around 5 million people provide unpaid care to a loved one.

Chief Executive Krista Cartlidge said it was “humbling” to see The King greet the young carers with warmth, adding that the invitation reflected the growing profile of young carers nationally.

The Dorset-based charity provides activity days, employability support and its school partnership programme, Level Up, as part of its work to raise awareness and improve support for children and young adults with caring responsibilities.
