Lighthouse marks 25 years of Investors in People

Lighthouse Poole has reached a milestone after maintaining Investors in People accreditation for 25 consecutive years.

The achievement places the arts centre among a small number of organisations nationally to hold the standard without interruption, with assessors highlighting how organisational values are reflected in everyday working practices and how staff describe their experience of contributing to cultural life in the local community.

Assessors noted that people working at Lighthouse feel supported to make decisions, share ideas and contribute to improvements, with positive feedback recorded across teams about management support, recognition and the way individual contributions are valued at all levels of the organisation.

Chief executive Elspeth McBain said the accreditation provides an independent assessment of the areas Lighthouse prioritises as an employer, including training, development and staff wellbeing, and reflects a long term commitment to investing in people alongside the values that guide the organisation’s work.

Investors in People is an international framework that assesses how organisations lead, support and develop their workforce, focusing on leadership, inclusive workplace culture and continuous improvement, with Lighthouse praised for embedding these principles consistently over a 25 year period.
