Appeal after fail to stop collision in Bournemouth

Police are appealing for witnesses after a car failed to stop following a collision with a pedestrian in Bournemouth.

The incident happened at around 7.45pm on Thursday in Redhill Avenue and involved a silver car and a pedestrian. Officers say the vehicle left the scene without stopping.

The pedestrian, a 17-year-old girl, was taken to hospital as a precaution and was treated for minor injuries.

Dorset Police officers from the Roads Policing Team are continuing enquiries and are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time. This includes drivers who may have dashcam footage that captured the collision or the moments before or after it happened.

Police Constable Rhianna Sly said: “Thankfully, the pedestrian in this incident was not seriously injured. We are carrying out enquiries into this collision and I am appealing to anyone who saw what happened to please get in touch.”

She also urged the driver of the car involved to come forward and provide an account of events.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police, quoting occurrence number 55260017510. Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers.
