Bournemouth University has published a new ten year strategic plan setting out its priorities for students, research and the local area.
The strategy, known as BU2035, outlines how the university plans to equip students with skills for future workplaces, carry out research with practical impact, and support communities and industries in Bournemouth and across the south coast.
The plan is built around five key pillars covering digital learning, research and innovation, people and culture, place and partnerships, and long term financial sustainability. It also includes proposals to develop new partnerships with UK colleges and overseas universities, widening the range of learning opportunities available to students.
Launching the strategy, Vice Chancellor Professor Alison Honour said the plan would “take Bournemouth to the world and bring the world to Bournemouth”. She added that supporting local prosperity remained central, with a focus on working alongside civic and industry partners.
The strategy was formally launched at an event in Bournemouth attended by local businesses, partner organisations and MP Jessica Toale.
Bournemouth University says BU2035 will guide decision making and investment over the next decade, with a continued emphasis on education, research and collaboration that supports the region.
