Police are appealing for help to identify a man following an alleged racially aggravated public order incident and assault in Bournemouth.
The incident happened on Lowther Road between 8.35am and 9.05am on Wednesday 21 January 2026, when two civil enforcement officers approached the driver of a grey Hyundai.
Police say the driver became verbally and racially abusive before driving away from the area.
Around ten minutes later, officers report the man returned and approached the civil enforcement officers again. One officer attempted to calm the situation, but it is alleged the man barged into the victim’s shoulder and spat at them.
Police Constable Aimee Holland, of Bournemouth police, said it was unacceptable for anyone to be abused or assaulted while carrying out their job, and officers were now releasing an image of a man they want to identify in connection with the incident.
Anyone who recognises the man, or has information that could assist the investigation, is asked to contact Dorset Police online or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55260011501. Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers online or by calling 0800 555 111.
