A man in his 80s died following a single vehicle collision in Christchurch on Sunday.
The incident involved a green Vespa moped in The Grove at around 4.55pm on Sunday 1 February 2026, with the rider pronounced deceased at the scene, as officers from Dorset Police began enquiries into the circumstances.
Road closures were put in place to allow a detailed examination to be carried out, while officers from the Roads Policing Team continue work to understand how the collision happened and speak with anyone who was in the area at the time.
Police Sergeant Dave Cotterill said enquiries are ongoing and added that officers are keen to hear from witnesses who have not yet spoken to police, particularly motorists who may have captured relevant dashcam footage, quoting occurrence number 55260015098.
