A pregnant woman was taken to hospital after being injured in a collision involving an e-bike in Poole.
The incident happened at around 3.50pm on Monday 26 January 2026 on Herbert Avenue, near the junction with Manor Avenue, involving an e-bike and a pedestrian, with police reporting that the rider did not stop at the scene.
The woman, aged in her 30s, received hospital treatment following the collision, and her baby, who has since been born, remains in hospital in a serious condition as officers continue enquiries into the circumstances.
Police Constable Dan Blagden, from the Roads Policing Team, said a full investigation is under way and urged any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police to come forward, including anyone with dashcam footage or who saw the e-bike being ridden beforehand.
Police believe there was a pillion passenger on the e-bike at the time of the collision and are asking both the rider and passenger to contact them, while anyone with information can contact Dorset Police quoting occurrence number 55260012364, or reach Crimestoppers anonymously.
