Applications have opened for artists seeking summer development space at Lighthouse Poole.
Creative spaces across the venue will be made available through the Sanctuary residency, giving artists time and room to develop new or unfinished work while using studios and gallery areas that are usually in public use during the rest of the year.
Launched in 2020, the scheme was set up in response to the pressures faced by artists locally and has since become a regular part of the summer programme, with more than one hundred projects supported to date at Lighthouse Poole.
Community Engagement Manager Martha Earley said the residency recognises how limited creative space can be, adding that artists supported through Sanctuary often return later with finished work that goes on to form part of the wider programme.
The offer includes designated workspace, some technical support and opportunities to share ideas, with limited help available for travel and accommodation where needed, and applications close on Monday twenty three February at midday with decisions expected by the end of March.
