Post Office relocating to Loch and Quay

Christchurch Post Office is set to move to the building currently used by Loch & Quay on Church Street.

It will be located inside a new Premier Convenience Store which will be taking over from the restaurant this year.

The change follows the departure of the temporary postmaster at the existing Saxon Square branch, which will no longer be available for Post Office use.

A new agent has been appointed to run the service, which will be incorporated into newly refurbished retail premises on Church Street. Plans include three serving positions in total, with one screened counter, two open plan positions and a Post Office point integrated into the shop counter.

All current services will continue to be offered alongside the retailer’s own convenience goods.

Opening hours will remain Monday to Friday from morning until late afternoon, with Saturday hours extending slightly compared to the current branch.

The new site is around 400 metres from Saxon Square, opposite where the Post Office used to be. Pedestrian access follows maintained pavements with dropped kerbs, and time-restricted parking is available on Wick Lane, with the car park situated about 130 metres from the new premises.

We’re awaiting a comment from Loch & Quay on their future at the time of publication.
