Charity boost from Ferndown care home
A Ferndown care home has begun its anniversary year by presenting nearly £1,800 to a disability charity following a programme of fundraising events.
The campaign was led by residents and staff at Amberwood House, who selected the Stable Family Home Trust as their charity for last year and then joined with families and supporters to run activities throughout the months that followed.
Events included a dog show, Big Lunch, car wash and Christmas market, with tombolas and raffles adding to the total raised. Resident Judy Brown said they enjoyed taking part in the activities and highlighted the dog show as especially enjoyable. To conclude the campaign, the home invited representatives of the Trust for a cheque presentation, marking the final total of £1,770.85.

The Trust, operating from offices in Ringwood and Southbourne, provides support for people with learning disabilities across Dorset and Hampshire. Its work reaches more than 100 individuals through a variety of services and opportunities.
Home Manager Diane Nicholls said the fundraising reflected a combined effort from all parts of Amberwood House and thanked everyone who contributed. The home celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.
