Loved ones remember father after Poole crash
Tributes have been paid to a young father who has died following a collision in Poole during the early hours of Wednesday 7th of January this year.
Emergency services were called to Wimborne Road near Heath Avenue in Oakdale at twelve minutes past two in the morning, after reports that a man had been found unresponsive, with further checks indicating he had been involved in a collision with a vehicle shortly beforehand that did not stop at the scene.
The man has been named as 26-year-old Adam McClelland, who was pronounced dead at the scene, as officers from Dorset Police began an investigation to establish what happened in the moments leading up to the incident.
In a tribute released by his family, they said his loss had left “a massive emptiness in our lives that is impossible to fill”, adding that he leaves behind two young sons, their mother, parents, seven brothers, grandparents and friends.
They said: “This has left a massive emptiness in our lives that is impossible to fill. He leaves behind his two beautiful boys aged six and four and their mum, a mum and dad, seven brothers, grandparents and friends who will keep his memory alive forever.
“Funeral arrangements are being made and will be distributed to everyone who loved and knew him, over the next few days.”
A fifty one year old man from Bournemouth has been arrested on suspicion of driving offences and released on police bail, while officers continue to appeal for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
