Cherries battle for point at Chelsea

Bournemouth earned a hard fought point after coming from behind to draw two all with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

The Cherries made an early impact and took the lead inside six minutes when David Brooks finished from close range after sustained pressure in the Chelsea penalty area, giving the visitors a deserved advantage during a confident opening spell.

Chelsea responded when a VAR review awarded the home side a penalty, which was converted by Cole Palmer to bring the scores level, before Enzo Fernández put Chelsea ahead midway through the first half with a strike from the centre of the box.

Bournemouth reacted positively and were rewarded soon after as Justin Kluivert scored from close range to restore parity, ensuring the sides went into the break level following an eventful opening period.

The second half saw Chelsea dominate possession and force a series of corners, with Bournemouth goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic making several key saves as pressure increased, particularly in the closing stages.

Substitutions were used by both sides as Bournemouth worked to manage the game and limit clear chances, while Chelsea continued to push forward during stoppage time without finding a breakthrough.

Bournemouth’s organisation and resilience ensured they left London with a point, reflecting a disciplined performance against sustained late pressure.
