Journeys on the Sandbanks Ferry are free on Christmas Day, allowing passengers to cross Poole Harbour without paying a toll.
Passengers travelling on Christmas Day will also be able to donate to the RNLI, with collection buckets placed on board throughout the day for anyone who wishes to give the equivalent of their usual fare to support the charity’s work.
Running times will differ from the standard schedule, with a dedicated Christmas Day timetable in place, and travellers are being advised to check the ferry operator’s website in advance to plan their journeys and avoid delays.
A message wishing customers and the wider community a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year has also been shared by the ferry team as the festive period gets underway.
