Man charged after Bournemouth collision

A man has been charged and will appear in court after a pedestrian was injured in a collision in Bournemouth town centre yesterday.

Police said the incident happened at around half past midnight on Monday 15 December, when a black BMW was involved in a collision with a pedestrian in Old Christchurch Road, close to the junction with Wootton Gardens, resulting in injuries to the man’s leg and arm that did not require immediate medical treatment.

Officers reported that the BMW left the scene following the collision and was later seen in Lansdown Road, where it failed to stop when required by police, prompting further enquiries that led to the arrest of a twenty five year old man from Bournemouth in connection with the incident.

The man has since been charged with attempted grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of a knife or bladed article, possession of a class C drug, dangerous driving, failing to provide an evidential specimen and failing to stop for a constable, and is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday seventeen December two thousand and twenty five.

Detectives say the investigation is ongoing and are continuing to appeal for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward, with information requested via Dorset Police using the incident reference number provided, or anonymously through Crimestoppers.
