Man hurt after late night Poole crash

A man in his forties was taken to hospital with suspected life threatening injuries following a late night two vehicle crash in Poole, which happened on Canford Heath Road near the junction with Plantation Road.

Dorset Police said officers were called at twenty two minutes past eleven on Monday night, after a collision involving a black Ford Ranger and a silver Volkswagen Golf, with emergency services attending and road closures put in place.

The injured man was a passenger in the Volkswagen Golf and his next of kin has been informed, while the driver of the Golf, a man in his thirties, was also taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be serious.

Police said the Golf driver was arrested on suspicion of driving offences, and the driver of the Ford Ranger, a man in his forties from Poole, was also arrested and remains in police custody.

Sergeant Dave Cotterill, from the Roads Policing Team, said officers were carrying out a detailed examination of the scene and added that anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage should come forward.
