Man arrested after Bournemouth collision
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a collision involving a pedestrian in Bournemouth town centre.
Police say the incident happened at around 12.25am on Monday 15 December in Old Christchurch Road, near the junction with Wootton Gardens.
The collision involved a black BMW and a male pedestrian, who suffered injuries to his leg and arm but did not require immediate medical treatment.
Officers were told the BMW drove away from the scene and was later seen in Lansdown Road, where it failed to stop for police.
Following further enquiries, a 25 year old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and driving offences and remains in police custody.
Detective Inspector Jon Sainsbury of BCP CID said officers are carrying out detailed enquiries and want to hear from witnesses not yet spoken to.
He said there were a number of people nearby at the time, including members of the public who intervened after the collision.
