Water saving support offered in BCP
Households across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole can now request free water-saving devices as part of a campaign aimed at helping residents cut usage and reduce bills when on a water meter.
Recent rainfall has lifted storage levels, but Bournemouth Water says it remains important to support careful use all year with its Come Rain or Shine scheme.
The company is offering a range of tools designed to reduce waste in bathrooms, including cistern bags that limit flushing volumes, detection strips that show when a toilet is leaking, four-minute shower timers and a regulator that limits shower flow to seven litres a minute.
Kim Williams, Head of Water Resources and Water Efficiency, said storage has improved in recent weeks and thanked customers for taking simple steps to reduce their use. She said weather patterns are becoming less predictable, making shared action essential.
Bournemouth Water teams continue to reduce leakage on the network and are helping customers identify issues on pipework that they own.
The company says about thirty per cent of water loss comes from customer pipework and support is available to fix these problems.
