Arrests made after death of Poole woman

A woman in her eighties has died at a home in Poole and three people have been arrested as detectives work to understand what happened.

Officers were called to an address in Higher Blandford Road at 4.52pm on Monday 1 December after the ambulance service reported a sudden death.

Police said that while inside the property they noticed signs that suggested a possible burglary and a cordon was put in place so enquiries could begin. The woman’s death is currently being treated as unexplained.

A man aged 32 from Verwood, a 30-year-old man from Wimborne and a 16-year-old boy from Romsey have been arrested on suspicion of murder and burglary and remain in custody.

Detective Inspector Shaun Inkpen said the investigation is ongoing and asked anyone who was in the area near the junction with Cotton Close between Saturday 29 November and Monday 1 December to get in touch if they saw anything suspicious or captured useful dashcam footage.

He added that officers will be carrying out extra patrols and can be approached by anyone with information or concerns.

Police are asking for information via their website or by calling 101 with the occurrence number provided. Crimestoppers can also be contacted anonymously.
